The Streets target February for the end?

Bear with us, because the following is a bit confusing: Earlier today, Mike Skinner, aka the mastermind behind The Streets, tweeted that he randomly found 100£ (that’s pounds) in his jeans and would give it to the first person who met him on the London Bridge at 12:00 p.m. (in Great Britain time). The person who met him conveniently brought a video camera, and in between picture taking and the money exchanging, got Skinner to drop a few details of what he’s currently working on. Skinner noted that he’s rehearsing in anticipation for the the followup to last year’s Everything Is Borrowed, which he hopes to have out next February.

Now, if you’re a follower of Skinner’s career, or at least recent comments, you’d know that the album now slated for release in February, aka his fifth full-length LP, will also be his last. Well, that’s at least what Skinner proclaimed last year and something which he sort of reaffirmed today when asked by the clever, money-making videotaper, saying, “Yeah. Don’t know…I want to make a film. Yeah, but after that, I don’t know.”

Ahh Twitter. What would we do without you?
