Sade gears up for new release
Now here’s something you don’t hear everyday: Sade is recording a new studio album. According to Billboard.com, the often reclusive Sade Adu has regrouped with the Grammy Award winning band that bears her name and has hit the studio to begin work on its first album of new material since 2000’s Lovers Rock.
While the project is still said to be in its early days, the band hopes to put out the yet-to-be-titled via Sony Records by the end of the year. “She is in the studio and the album will come when it is ready,” a source at Sony tells Billboard. “You don’t wait for years for one and then rush it.”
