Update: Sunny Day Real Estate reunion is official!

In reunion news we are actually excited about (sorry, Creed!), Sunny Day Real Estate will indeed be getting back together later this year. According to Live Nation’s web site (via Ear Candy), the iconic Seattle quartet has a show scheduled for The Fillmore in San Francisco, California on October 13th. Tickets for the gig go on sale beginning Sunday, June 28th at 10:00 am PST via Live Nation. What’s more, AV Club is reporting a October 16th in the band’s hometown of Seattle, while Ticketmaster lists a show for October 3rd at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre.
As we reported in April, the band, best known for its 1994 debut, Diary, and for having two of its members, William Goldsmith and Nate Mendel, go on to join the Foo Fighters, appeared to be gearing up for a reunion tour. Now it all seems to be coming to fruition. Sunny Day Real Estate is also rumored to be playing this year’s Bumbershoot Music Festival, scheduled to take place between September 5th and 7th in Seattle.
