MGMT opening for Paul McCartney
In news that is important because a.) we’re dealing with a former Beatle and b.) everyone and their mother seems to love MGMT, the Brooklyn duo of Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have been tapped to serve as openers for Sir Paul McCartney’s upcoming two-night stint at Fenway Park in Boston. Tickets for the shows, which take place on August 5th and 6th, will go on sale beginning Monday June 29th via Live Nation.
Of course, we can’t say we’re all that surprised, what with McCartney’s previous comments expressing his admiration of MGMT. Let’s just hope things stay organic…

I’m sorry….I’ve seen MGMT 3 times at festivals…and I love them on album, but they really need a shit ton of practice performing live.
