We say obvious because it’s not like the boys of My Morning Jacket aren’t busy with other endeavors these days. In addition to traveling at Bonnaroo as a “fan,” Hallahan is currently working with the Black Key’s lead guitarist Dan Auerbach on his recently launched solo project, while, as we reported earlier this week, the band’s frontman, Jim James, is set to join a super-group known as Monsters of Folk (which include Connor Oberst, M.Ward and Mike Mogis).
But for those concerned this “break” turns permanent, and consequently, cause 90% of Bonnaroo’ers to commit mass suicide, Hallahan says don’t worry: “Everybody’s just taking time off and doing what they want to do… We’re all in our own islands and eventually we’ll all swim back to the mainland and get back together… Hopefully none of them drown on their return…”
