My Morning Jacket in recess?

By on June 23rd, 2009

Expecting to see My Morning Jacket sometime soon? Don’t count on it. After spending the last year releasing Evil Urges and then touring the globe in support of it, the Louisville rockers have reportedly decided to take a break. Drummer Patrick Hallahan shared the obvious with Spinner.com backstage at Bonnaroo earlier this month: “Right now, [...]

No Hole reunion? Love’s just a “nutbag”? Say it ain’t so!

By on June 23rd, 2009

In an unsurprising twist of fate, it seems that the idea of a Hole reunion is just wishful thinking — on account of Courtney Love‘s. In response to Love’s recent video from the studio, where she announced her new solo album would be under the Hole moniker, bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur seems to think [...]

New KISS album will rock!

By on June 23rd, 2009

Always one for the theatrics (well, duh), Paul Stanley continues to juice in excitement over the upcoming record by the one and only, KISS. The rhythm and vocals of the monster quartet confirms a lot that’s already been said and promised, which means, yes, a new record is coming, and yes, it’ll be 70′s-influenced. That [...]

He’s just going about it carefully. Real carefully. “It’s hard to follow big records with another big record,” Rock tells [...]

Late Night Lobotomy (Week of 6/22)

By on June 22nd, 2009

In my humble opinion, 2009 has been a downright delightful year for music. I could already make a great top 10 of the year list, and we’ve still got six months to go. That, to me, is a rousing success. I’m also used to my favorite acts of the year getting the shaft from TV programs. [...]

TVotR’s Kyp Malone beomes the latest musician to go solo

By on June 22nd, 2009

So, I guess the big trend now is to abadon your high-profile indie act in favor of a solo album? Following in the wake of similar announcements by Interpol’s Paul Banks, Battles’ Tyondai Braxton, and The Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson and Jack White (maybe?), TV on the Radio‘s Kyp Malone has revealed plans for his own [...]
