Michael Jackson memorial services confirmed

Today, exactly one week after the untimely passing of Michael Jackson, his family has officially announced details pertaining to his memorial services. On Tuesday, July 7th, a funeral for the legendary pop star will be held at the 20,000 capacity Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. AEG Live, which owns the arena and the adjacent Nokia Theatre, will use both facilities and the surrounding plaza to accommodate what is expected to be a massive turnout, reports Billboard.

After the ceremony, Jackson will reportedly be laid to rest at the Hollywood Hills location of Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuaries (via E News). The family had hoped to bury him at his former estate, the Neverland Ranch, however, as the Los Angeles Times reported earlier this week, those hopes had fallen victim to red tape.
