Leonard Cohen says no more “Hallelujah”, announces European tour
A word of warning to all musicians: Leonard Cohen does not want you to cover “Hallelujah” right now. At least that’s what the acclaimed singer/songwriter said in a recent interview with The Guardian. “I was reading a review of a movie called Watchmen that uses it, and the reviewer said, ‘Can we please have a moratorium on ‘Hallelujah’ in movies and television shows?’ and I kind of feel the same way, Cohen noted. “I think it’s a good song, but too many people sing it.”
No word on whether this means Cohen himself will take a break from performing his legendary song, but there is one way to find out — he will be touring Europe through late August. All announced dates can be found below.

One must always respect the ‘artist’ and his wishes!
He has given so much of himself.
What are we to give him?
Respect!
Pure and simple.
I wish him well always!
We should (all) write a line of ‘thanks’.
He has stripped himself of any pretence.
He is the ‘real-deal’ a ‘Bright Light’.
His beacon illuminates us all.
