NIN, Pixies, Pet Shop Boys and more for Virgin Festival Ontario ‘09
It looks like Virgin Festival saved its best for last. In what will be the fifth and final Virgin hosted Canadian music festival of the summer, organizers have pieced together a rather impressive and electric bill for Virgin Festival Ontario. Nine Inch Nails, which will be saying goodbye, the Pixies, which will be saying hello, Our Lady of Peace and Ben Harper & Relentlesss7 head the list of acts set to descend on Burl’s Creek Park from August 29-30. I heard from people it was absolutely terrible, other than pixies and NIN. What a bad place for a festival, what a fuckup with the change of venue, what a mediocore lineup. I will never attend a Virgin event again, doesn’t matter the lineup.

those who don’t think ben harper a good headliner clearly have not seen him play live…
I guess since nearly every band is at Reading Festival in England that weekend, it was pretty slim pickings for this years’ festival. I wish they’d chosen a different weekend so Metric could be there…..
Ben Harper is a horrible headliner, but it’s okay, because the Pixies are the true headliners. It’s always good at a festival like this to have a shitty band on last so that it is easier to exit the venue.

Ben Harper as the saturday headliner is a bit of a disapointment, but NIN makes up for that on the sunday! Best lineup of the v-fests, but still a tiny bit disapointing. I guess its what to be expected wit hthe show only 6 weeks away.
