Austin City Limits shares ‘09 schedule

In a little over three months, the ninth annual Austin City Limits Music Festival will descend on Austin, Texas’s Zilker Park for three-days of overwhelming musical action. Today, organizers sought to help prepare festival-goers for what is to come with the release of its 2009 schedule.

Friday features the Beastie Boys paired against Kings of Leon, while Phoenix, Lily Allen, Coheed and Cambria, and Andrew Bird are among the other day’s higlights.

Ghostland Observatory and Dave Matthews Band (ugh?) will head Saturday, which will also sport the likes of Mos Def, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, !!! and Mute Math. There’s all a pretty big conflict what with The Decemberists opposite DeVotchKa.

The festival’s final day will see Pearl Jam playing by itself and Girl Talk playing against the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and Sonic Youth (ouch). Then, there’s also The Dead Weather, Passion Pit, Arctic Monkeys and The B-52s to look forward to.

Get the complete schedule at aclfestival.com.

As for tickets, three-day passes are entirely sold-out, as are Saturday single-day. Friday and Sunday single-day, as well as VIP passes are still available via Front Gate Tickets.

Yes austin is their home town, but they shouldn’t be a headliner and certainly shouldn’t have to compete with DMB.
B52’s should be later in the day.
