It’s been a while since we’ve heard a thing from AFI. That’s probably because Davey Havok and the rest of A Fire Inside have been laboring over the follow-up to 2006′s Decemberunderground for over 2 years. Well, the work has paid off, because the band’s latest LP, Crash Love is ready to be released on September 29th. According to Havok, the thing is pretty good. Perv Punknews:

After two years of focused writing and recording we have finished Crash Love in it’s entirety and and are thrilled to hear it come to life – personally, I’ve never been more proud of an AFI record. We are writing to announce that on Sept 29th it will be released to the world. We wanted you to know first and do hope that you enjoy it!

For older fans, I wouldn’t expect any return to their more punk inclined roots, given the more pop-punk/emo direction they’ve been steadily headed the past couple records. But, we’ll have to wait and see just what Crash Love is all about. Hopefully Davey’s front hanging hair didn’t muffle his vocals . . .
