Tim Buckley doesn’t appear in the news very often, but when he does count on his devoted fan-base to be thrilled. A constantly growing unit composed of old heads and fans of his son who eagerly dug deeper, they always greet news of the avant-folk icon with excitement. They’ve certainly got reason to be excited this time: surfacing on August 25th is an intimate live recording (word is that the audience consisted of only 35 people) that includes six previously unheard compositions. Released by the Tompkins Square label, Live at the Folklore Center, NYC – March 6, 1967, was recorded by Izzy Young, who remarked to Billboard.com that he “just couldn’t believe it, all that fresh energy, fresh thought.”

Recorded a few months before Buckley’s second album, Goodbye and Hello, the live document will immediately capture a special place in the singer’s discography, as it is the earliest live recording of him to be released. Below is the track listing:
