Lit drummer Allen Shellenberger dead at 39
Allen Shellenberger, founding member and drummer of the band Lit, lost his battle with brain cancer yesterday. He was 39-years-old. In May of 2008, the California native was diagnosed with a malignant glioma brain tumor and immediately underwent clinical trials, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments at the Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute.
Shellenberger had been a member of Lit for nearly two decades and had been performing with the band until last fall.
He is survived by his daughter Giovanna Mackey, his mother Connie James, and his father Paul Shellenberge

So very sad to hear Allen lost his battle - he made things look so fantastically eventful and hope others will be able to duplicate his sweet spirit for life.

Allen will be missed by all…I had the pleasure of being at a festival where one of my photographers took some photos of Allen at last years Spare the Air Festival in Fullerton, Ca Was the last time I had the pleasure of seeing him perform. My thoughts and prayers go out to his Family, Fans & Friends. RIP ALLEN!
This is very sad news to hear. This is such a great band. May Allen rest in peace and be flying with the Angels up in Heaven. I hope he has a drum set waiting for him there!!!
