Austin City Limits unveils 2009 aftershows
While there still remain questions as to who will be replacing the Beastie Boys at this year’s Austin City Limits, the same can not be said about the festival’s late night entertainment. Today, the Austin, Texas based festival, scheduled to take place from October 2nd and 4th in Zilker Park, unveiled its official 2009 aftershows.
Thursday, October 1st offers a pretty stellar pre-show with The Walkmen and Blitzen Trapper hitting Emo’s, while Friday is jam packed with the likes of DevotchKa, STS9, !!!, and The Raveonettes. Highlighting Saturday night’s festivities will be Thievery Corporation’s performance at Stubb’s and the indie mayhem of Grizzly Bear and Beach House at Emo’s. The final night will be a bit more subdued with only two aftershows scheduled, though both are easily must sees — Ghostland Observatory will take to Stubb’s and Bon Iver will look to cap things off at the Paramount.
Get the complete, day-to-day schedule at Ultra8201. Tickets for all shows will be available beginning Thursday, August 20th via Front Gate Tickets.

Thanks for the update! I can’t wait to see STS9 and/or Thievery Corp, both at ACL and the after shows!
STS9 rocked my face off at the after show last year. It was worth staying up late-started around midnight, ended around 2am. AWESOME and worth it; do yourself a favor if you haven’t seen Sound Tribe Sector 9 play!
Anyone know if Medeski, Martin and Wood are doing an after show??!
Sounds like you have had an awesome day Mike…
So far the highlight of my day was seeing a guy calling himself a douchebag, clicking on the link, and finding a giant picture of Brett Favre.
good, but not as good as lolla’s late night shows….
that was clever…
ok never mind I’m a douche bag
Not too thrilled…
