Members of Kill Hannah, Alkaline Trio, Local H unite, shame giant robots everywhere

What is it about this year and popular bands combining members to form awe-inspiring super groups? First it was the likes of The Dead Weather, then the jaw-dropping line up of Them Crooked Vultures, and then came along the newly-reunited 7 Worlds Collide. Joining that list now, however, is the nameless amalgamation of Kill Hannah, Alkaline Trio and Local-H members. It’s like one Chicago deep dish… um… band.

Thanks to AltPress.com, we’ve learned that Greg Corner and Jonny Radtke of Kill Hannah, Matt Skiba and Derek Grant of Alkaline Trio, and Scott Lucas of Local H will be playing a show tonight, August 18th at the Debonair Social Club in Chicago.  For now, the group will be a covers-only act. What covers exactly? According to the Chicago Reader blog, the band should work their way through some Fugazi, Mission of Burma and Misfits tunes. Stay tuned if they decide to indulge our fanaticism and actually release some original material.

If this year’s any indication, they probably will.
