Foo Fighters think it’s time to celebrate the hits

With 15 years and six Platinum-plus albums under its belt, the Foo Fighters apparently think there is no better time than now to release its first ever greatest hits album. And on November 3rd, Dave Grohl and Co. will do just that when they offer, as the issued press release puts it, the brilliantly titled Foo Fighters Greatest Hits via Roswell/RCA.

While a tracklist has yet to be announced, the compilation will include such selections as Grammy winners “The Pretender”, “All My Life”, and “Learn To Fly”, as well as classics like “Best of You”, “Times Like These”, “My Hero”, and “Everlong”. What’s more, the band will also include two brand new selections — “Wheels”, which made its live debut at President Obama and the USO’s July 4 barbeque at the White House honoring military heroes, and “Word Forward” — both recorded especially for this collection at the band’s own 606 studio complex with producer Butch Vig.

No word on whether the band will end its self-imposed hiatus to support the release in any manner, though with Grohl currently tied up with Them Crooked Vultures, that’s probably a bit unlikely.

As always, more information as it becomes available.
