Thom Yorke to release “secret” 12″ in September

Thom Yorke to release “secret” 12″ in September

Radiohead had been surprisingly absent from the headlines this week. Key word: had.

In what is an amazingly stellar way to kick off the weekend, Exlaim.ca is reporting that Radiohead’s Thom Yorke will offer two previously unreleased tracks, “Apart By Horses” and “The Hollow Earth”, as a surprise, limited edition 12″ on September 22nd via TBD Records. The release will be limited (4,000 copies in both the U.S. and Europe and 300 in Canada) and could include, as Exlaim put it, “really awesome packaging and artwork.”

Of course, in typical Radiohead fashion nothing has been confirmed, as the 12″ is intended to be a surprise. That said, our friends at TwentyFourBit speculate that the release could in fact be Yorke’s contributions to the forthcoming New Moon soundtrack.

Of the two tracks, “Apart By Horses”, has been performed by Yorke in the past, so if you’re looking for a preview of what might be coming, check it out below.

Now comes the waiting period. At least you have all that other new Radiohead (“Harry Patch (In Memory Of)”, “These Are My Twisted Words”, & “All for the Best”) to hold you over.
