Grease up that hair, tear up those jeans, and start playing darts on a poster of Dave Coulier’s mug, Alanis Morissette plans to return…big time. In a sitdown interview with Rolling Stone recently, the Canadian-American songwriter hinted at her fruitful future: “Usually two journals make a record and I have about 10 full right now.”

Yes, quite fruitful indeed. But there’s a catch, however. Before the 35 year-old hits the studio for a new album, the follow up to 2008′s Flavors of Entanglement, she wants to first finish the book she is currently writing. “It’s about all the themes I obsess and pontificate over,” she says. “All this sort of body-dysmorphia-spirit humor, travelogues, photographs, articles I’ve written in magazines with a lot of touching on health and detoxing and re-toxing and the importance of integrating it all.”

In the coming weeks, the singer-also-actress (remember her as God?) will wrap up her work on Weeds as it winds down its fifth season on Showtime. She doesn’t rule out more acting gigs, either, as she says she is “open to” another season.
