There’s something endearing about the boys and girls of Cardiff, Wales — at least if the team behind Los Campesinos! is any indication. While they may be rowdy, pushy, and even raucous, they have a hungry heart, and if that wasn’t obvious enough in their music, then perhaps an intimate conversation will turn a leaf or two for you. Because simply put, this seven-piece may be one crude rag-tag team of young punks, but  they’re more likely to hug you than spit at your feet.

And that’s exactly what Gareth Campesino did when we sat down with him, shortly following their blistering set at Lollapalooza. With a hug and an amicable smile, Gareth engaged us with a positive energy that would make any fan, journalist, or human being swoon. After all, he had lot’s to say, even if it had only been six months since we last spoke with him.

This time around, however, we digressed on the summer’s festival scene, their current dilemmas at hand, and their forthcoming followup to last year’s We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed. Some ear raising moments occurred as well, including a fascinating new look at why we might be called Consequence of Sound.
