Jay-Z takes The Blueprint 3 on the road
Because album streams and guest appearances can only take you so far, Jay-Z has mapped out dates in both the U.K. and North America in support of his new album, The Blueprint 3. Following the previously reported one-off record release extravaganza/benefit concert at Madison Square Garden on September 11th, Hova will head across the Atlantic for two weeks worth of dates with Coldplay in Manchester, Glasgow, and London. Then, it’s back to North America where he’ll split his time between Canada and the U.S. throughout October and November.
Of course, all this will take place while he is maybe possibly working with Jack White and MGMT on the super experimental followup to The Blueprint 3. And then there’s an appearance on the The Jay Leno Show on Monday, September 14th he has to tend to. So Ambitious, to say the least.
The Blueprint 3 hits stores on September 11th via Roc Nation/Atlantic.
Pre-sale tickets for the newly announced North American dates will go on sale beginning Tuesday, September 8th via Ticketmaster.com. The public sale will follow on Saturday, September 12th.

NO….this tour is just hitting the types of cities that don’t usually get hit. Jay-Z is not saying Champaign is somehow a bigger hip hop mecca than New York.
Chris…”D.O.A.” was actually Kanye’s idea believe it or not. Jay never said that autotune is a bad thing. That isn’t his point…he’s saying it is over used. He has been very open in commending artists who have taken auto-tune technology and used it to make creative art…just today I heard him refer to 808s as a brilliant album. The song is about rappers who use auto-tune as a crutch…a quick way to a hit single.
Also…just got back from the HOB show. Sick…
it’s all about money…somebody in Miami didn’t think that even though they are the hip hop capital of the world that they wouldn’t be able to get an ROI from the cost of hosting a Jay-Z show at their venues…don’t know dick about Miami but I do know artists go where they do more for who is willing to book them than where they want to play…
Looking forward to the show in Columbus!
that’s not hypocritical. jay actually tried to talk kanye out of making 808’s and heartbreak because he has always said auto tune is terrible. just because kanye used it doesn’t mean he can’t work with his boy.
I don’t care who produced the album and of course I realize that they’ve been working together for a long time. But for Jay to make a song like DOA and then have Kanye guest and produce the album is hypocritical as hell. I like Kanye as an MC, but the 808’s album is terrible, in my opinion. Having two “Gigantic Singles” doesn’t make it anymore relevant than the last Jonas Brothers album. Having hit songs doesn’t make an album good.
HAHA…LA a “hip hop capital”? Keep dreaming.
Jay-Z isn’t “skipping” Miami and LA. This tour is hitting smaller cities that he didn’t make it to on his last couple tours.
As for Chris(V)…you do realize that Kanye produced “D.O.A.”, right? And about half the album?
Somehow, I think LA might be more of a hip-hop capital than Miami
wow…. you go to Kentucky, but you skip one of the hip hop capitals of the world, Miami
Kanye’s joke of an album had two GIGANTIC singles. That dude’s shit is better than most people’s hits. And is that laughable? No. Kanye has been working with Jay for the better part of a deacde
Chris V, merch dude for We the Kings who got beaten by Philly police?
Is it just me, or is it somewhat laughable that he makes a song like D.O.A., but then has guest spots on two tracks from Kanye, who seems to be the new king of Auto-tune with that last mess of an album?
does anybody know who is opening the US dates for him?

[...] In layman’s terms, Wale’s much anticipated debut full-length, Attention: Deficit, is apparently being back two weeks (to November 3rd) so the rapper can apparently join Lupe Fiasco for Jay-Z’s upcoming North American tour. [...]
