It’s confirmed, kids: Pavement will be reuniting for at least one date in 2010. Hot on the heels of Brooklyn Vegan’s proclamation, Pitchfork is reporting, citing a “a source who is real and official and not a figment of our imagination,” that the legendary indie rockers will perform a benefit show at New York City’s Central Park SummerStage on September 21, 2010.
In case you’re wondering, that’s 370 days from now. 370 looooong days.
TAGGED AS: Pavement
Erm, coachella? Anyone?
Pavement world tour, 2010, starts in Australia early next year. Please don’t believe me because it will make the Pavement show you’re going to next year that much better.
So, an unnamed source reported on Brooklyn Vegan and Pitchfork counts as “confirmation”?
I have it from a reliable French source that Mr. Mangum currently is very happy running his fresh squeezed turnip juice company in Gladpenny, GA to break the laws of pop physics, disrupt the timestream dwarves and return to our pods, I or otherwise. Pavement will have to suffice, as they have apparently run out of Indiegreens, the currency of love’s young bunz.
…then take a big sip of water to get this horse pill down the old throat.
Truth is a hard pill to swallow.
First Pixies, then My Bloody Valentine, then Jesus Lizard, and now Pavement. Every one of my favorite important bands from the 90’s. Who thinks at this rate it’s only a matter of time before Mr. Mangum decides to hop on the bandwagon?
World tour starts early next year in Australia. Seriously, this is really happening. I shouldn’t know this information but unfortunately I do, so there it is.
