Fucked Up captures 2009 Polaris Prize

Fresh off the U.K. crowning Speech Debelle as its favorite of 2009, Canada did the same, awarding the 2009 Polaris Music Prize to none other than Fucked Up’s The Chemistry of Common Life. Led by Pink Eyes (you may know him best from Fox News), the six-piece outfit beat out the likes of K’Naan, Great Lake Swimmers, Patrick Watson, and Chad VanGaalen to the prestigious Canadian music prize which awards $20,000 to the group with the Canadian album of the year.

Fucked Up now joins past winners Caribou, Patrick Watson, and Final Fantasy in the Polaris fraternity.
