On October 20th, the awesomely titled Yo Gabba Gabba! Music Is Awesome! will be released via Filter Recordings. • Wow, did you come on here specifically to make mean comments? Must have a lot of time on your hands. My kids love the show on their own. No prodding, no begging. They just like it…and it’s really not bad to watch. At least there’s cool, catchy music. I can’t really say that about anything else I’ve seen….

  • I am not a Yo Gabba Gabba fan.

As a parent, who is friends with other parents, it actually kind of nauseates me to see parents trying to force an adolescence/college/young-adult scene (which they refuse to grow out of) and the bands and aesthetics thereof on their poor defenseless children. And then pretend this show is for their kids and not just marketed directly to their wallet through their pretensions.

Grow the f*** up, and let your kids find out what THEY like. Stop force-feeding them your music dressed down in the ultimate cynical, corporate indie-is-the-new-mainstream ploy.

OK, I’m sorry, I had to vent – the self-satisfaction of that show just boggles my mind.

Ah well, at least it will be fun to see how the kids rebel.

  • Gulp… this will be very, very strange to see the Shins sing with puppets.
