Empire of the Sun’s Nick Littlemore still alive, working with Elton John

Empire of the Sun’s Nick Littlemore still alive, working with Elton John

Last week, we told you how Empire of the Sun’s Luke Steele hadn’t heard from his co-conspirator Nick Littlemore for five months. It turns out that’s because Littlemore had been traveling the country with none other than Elton John, co-writing a new album for his other band, Pnau.

“We’re making a studio album with Elton John co-writing on some tracks for the next Pnau album,” Littlemore recently revealed in an interview with NME.com. “We met Elton in Australia and his manager has now become our manager.”

Plus, because of some little underwater snafu, Littlemore apparently had no means of communication…

“I was recording in Atlanta and swimming with my phone in my pocket,” he said about not giving Steele a call all this time. “I’ve never managed to replace it.”

Littlemore made no mention of his current status with Empire of the Sun, though given the fact he couldn’t find one pay phone in a five month span and will not be appearing at the first ever live shows this week at the Parklife Festival, we’d assume his status might be non-existent.

That said, as mentioned, Pnau does have a new album coming out soon and plan to support it with a yet-to-be-announced tour, so one way or another, you’ll be able to hear Littlemore.
