If you’re a fan of The Clash and you’ve seen Glasvegas live, then you know that weird, surreal feeling that screams, “My god, James Allan is Joe Strummer reincarnate.” Or, maybe you don’t. One thing’s for sure… you’re no doubt moved by the Glasgow crooner. Hell, even Bono’s probably shed tears to these guys (he has called it “one of the best songs (he’s) ever heard”) — and rightfully so. It’s gripping stuff, amplified by Allan’s signature tone and pitch.

That’s why the video for the group’s heartbroken ballad, “It’s My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry”, is so tragic to watch. Not only does the video hit hard — Allan attempting an interview, while reminiscing of former love — but the accompanying music is just so damn piercing. It’s an onslaught of emotion, and if you recall some of history’s more poignant music videos, then you’ll know the good one’s set out to do just that.

So, shed a tear, and if you haven’t done so yet, go pick up the self-titled debut, already.
