Coachella 2010 = April 16-18, 2010

As we’ve reported for weeks and as Billboard confirms today, next year’s edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will take place from April 16-18, 2010 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.

So far, there is one confirmation, Mexican alternative band Zoé, while Pavement, Pretty Lights, and The Raveonettes all are heavily rumored. There is also speculation that Thom Yorke and Jack White will appear, but in what form — Radiohead vs. solo; The Dead Weather vs. White Stripes vs. solo — remains unclear. As always, stay tuned to our Coachella Outlook page for all the latest confirmations and rumors.

In semi-related news, Coachella’s sister festival, the country-oriented Stagecoach Music Festival, unveiled its 2010 bill today. Among the highlights to appear at the festival, which takes place from April 24-25, 2010 in Indio, CA, are Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland, Phil Vassar, Merle Haggard, and The Avett Brothers. Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, October 16th via Ticketmaster.com.

  1. Can’t wait for new coachella. I go every year for the past 5 yrs. the one thing I do ask that helped myself and many people last yr is use the lay away plan again this year so people can make payments and still get their everyday living done. Please and Thank You ever so much.

  2. Brian Jonestown Massacre, X, and Calexico made 2009 worthwhile for me, and Yo La Tengo and Pavement alone would make 2010 worthwhile for sure.

  3. Coachella 2009 had its good moments. Music line up in advance … with line up times and days would be so helpful, it took us a week to coordinate and agree who we would see because so many of the bands we did want to see were playing at the same times on different stages … so please … please, pretty please.

  4. I didn’t go last year cuz of the snore headliners. But “news” of Jack White and Thom Yorke have me cautiously optimistic. I have one request for GV. Please release the lineup earlier, even in parts if need be.

  5. can’t wait for Coachella to arrive. It’s one of the few music festivals that is worthy of attendance. And whether it’s Thom Yorke solo or with Radiohead, or Jack White with the Dead Weather, White Stripes, or solo, it would be an unforgettable experience regardless.

  6. [...] to Consequence of Sound, only the band, Zoé, has been confirmed for Coachella. Other rumors include The Raveonettes, Thom [...]
