I pre-ordered Goblin on vinyl after hearing this. I figure that even if every song besides this one, Yonkers, and Sandwhitches, sucks, that it’d still be worth having on vinyl. this is swagged the fuck out by the way

This review is ridiculously closed-minded. Everyone is welcome to their opinions, but would you really WANT Bowling for Soup to be all mature and serious? No, the allure of this band is their immaturity and general entertainment quality. Which they excel at.
It’s impossible to listen to this album and not smile. And that’s what makes a great record. And the fact that you’re so “doubtful” about new fans proves your ignorance. I know many NEW BFS fans that love the band. Just because the reviewer’s now old and is going through a mid-life crisis doesn’t mean you have to hate on the band. They’re having fun, their listeners are having fun, and you’re being whiny. You tell me who’s wrong in this situation
JP
Yeah, good point. I’d like to give a big middle finger to everyone who posted a fake lineup.
Steph
You guys are ridiculous. I’m not sure you got the right CD? Such a harsh review on such a great album. You’re trying too hard to stick them in to a genre where they don’t belong. Next time you review a The Sounds album, maybe someone that ISN’T partially retarded should review it.

I have really wanted to hear Specialist live for awhile and of course when I forget to ask off work they play it, and Sam Fogarino joined the band in 2000. I guess he’s not a founding member but he’s been there for all their studio albums and I would consider him as part of the band as much as Banks/Kessler. Sounds like a good time though, wish I would have been there.

Solid Review of the record. I can’t wait to get my hands on it soon. I am digging the lead single, Simple Math, pretty hard right now.
Pretty fucking retarded. The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, and The White Stripes? Could you be anymore mainstream? This album is pretty good since they are going back to their hey-day. I am extremely sure that you gave Justin Bieber’s My World 5 stars.
badpunz
were there more people in the crowd than typos in this review? if so, it was packed.
MoniqueTheBeat
Boo! This album is amazing! their best work yet!!!
ghost that never lies…
how packed was it there last night? was on a middle school field trip with students yesterday and missed it
Tucker Walsh
i like that he wants Super Furry Animals and Grandaddy. Makes me like Yuck more. I too missed that tour, and i’ve been kicking myself since.
wow, this is surprisingly good on eminem’s part, he sounds like his old self, still angry though

Album of the Year, in my opinion. (So far, at least!)

Skrillex AND Diplo? I’m there. I don’t care what other people said, but Skrillex killed it at Coachella.

You mad nuts HandBanana. But then again, you probably liked Joachim Garraud too, so if the shoe fits…

Ditto on the Big Top Tour back in 1997. I went. It was great.
All the Disco Biscuit’s ARE FAR FROM ALL ELECTRONIC, FAR FROM IT, and they still SUCK.
Drchronicny
You must have gotten custied on lot. Don’t hate, you know they are very talented. Yes very far from electronica, they are a jam band.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center! August!

o man definitely. that would be amazing

this lineup kinda sucks

Look at that chubby, giggly bearish bloke laughing up there. He doesn’t deserve our attention. He was the problem child in New Order and now he’s cowardly cashing in on Joy Division’s legacy. Ian must be rolling in his grave. I HATE HIM.

Ed has been playing alot of these songs before Pearl Jam shows for years…some of his best stuff yet, glad its finally coming out.
Purchased two Full Festival Passes based on the initial lineup. Now that I’ve seen the grid, and how many key acts are up against eachother, it was a big f*cking mistake to purchase my passes so quickly. After the 13th the lineup takes a big nose dive. I never thought I would have anything negative to say about Bluesfest. Oh well. Seriously though, Buddy Guy at the same time as My Morning Jacket. It really seems like they put this together in the last week. Weak!
MonahanRulz
spm69 ……….. MMJ going up against Buddy Guy is extremely minor….. and inevitable ….. You want conflicts…??? Try taking a peak at the “cubes” of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival” sometime…..There are enough conflicts there to bring a music lover to tears. With 5 stages of world class music to schedule..there is going to be conflicts. What I do – just check out half of Buddy, then swim over to the mainstage

Just to clarify, when you say Braid, do you mean the post-hardcore/indie-emo band or that NYC multi-instrumental band Braids? If it’s the former, that’s exciting. I didn’t know they were reuniting! I think I may be working on some show posters for this fest.
he is good that is why he is chosen he deserve to be an announcer

So I listened to the album…my god it was soooooo boring. I used to love Incubus, but returning from their hiatus with this? It’s like a whole album with “Drive”s, minus any semblance of imagination. I thought Mike went and took music composition lessons?

I heard of Daria on Robot Chicken.

I guess the problem I have is the complete lack of depth. Bands around the 20th mark down are around 40-50th at bonnaroo or coachella. Just look at placement for bands like sleigh bells, best coast, portugal the man, etc. and how high they are on the lolla lineup comparatively. It just seems that they blew all their money on headliners and left barely any room for high caliber day acts (see last year)

When Apple releases the Beatles at Shea Stadium and Let It Be, I might buy re-packaged McCartney___maybe.

Dullest rock album of the year I have heard so far- a couple of tracks arent bad (first couple, and possibly last), but as a whole theres nothing truly memorable, and youll end up falling asleep halfway through. Despite going back to the harsher sound of their debut, its radio friendly and nothing new – so will likely be on a loop on the national stations soon enough as each single is released. Hopefully they will give a better result with their next album in a couple of yrs. still a fan

If….you camped out at any festival’s main stage then you would miss a lot. I just checked the schedule and it’s not too bad.

I also experienced one of these shows in ’95. It was a warm-up show for the Foo’s first tour. Vedder played drums and Watt was on bass for the Foo Fighters. It was a great show and an exiting introduction to the, then, new band!

that has to be the worst/most conflicting schedule ever
