Watch: The Raveonettes - “Last Dance”

Shimmying the “brill” back into Brill Building pop is what makes The Raveonettes The Raveonettes. And so’s their “Last Dance” vid plays as an unbashed pastiche of love Beach Blanket-style: a Ray Ban-bedecked, romantically reckless young couple licks ice cream, cavorts along beaches, surfs a deux, and rides a motorcycle. Just business as youzh for the Swedish duo, whose fourth full-length, In & Out of Control, dropped Tuesday.

But the super-cutest part has gotta be the singing crow (or “raven,” huh?) that coos the chorus starting at 0:52.

  1. Goddamit, they’ve been around for the entire decade, so get it right: Danish, not Swedish. They don’t wanna share ABBA so why should we have to share?
