The Flaming Lips open their own store

If Jack White can do it, so can Wayne Coyne. In support of tomorrow’s release of Embryonic, The Flaming Lips, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Records, will open up a pop-up store, for one day only, on October 15th in downtown Los Angeles.

According to Billboard, the store will offer offer limited edition merchandise, vinyl, and CDs. What’s more, visitors to the store will also have an opportunity of winning tickets to see the Lips’ MySpace secret show, which will take place Ricardo Montalbán Theatre later that day and might possibly be the band’s last performance until 2010. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Lips store will be located at the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre at 1615 Vine St. in Los Angeles.

  1. They are doing Voodoo Fest in New Orleans on Halloween weekend.

  2. How is it their last performance until 2010 if they’re doing the New Year’s Eve show? Technically that’s 2010, but still, it will start midnight.
