Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor makes solo debut

As if the deluxe editions and Conan performances weren’t enough, today marks the solo debut of Grizzly Bear multi-instrumentalist Chris Taylor. Under the moniker of CANT, Taylor has officially released his debut solo single, titled “Ghosts” and packaged with a previously unreleased song by Arthur Russell, via his recently launched personal imprint, Terrible Records.

A bit appropriately, Gorilla vs. Bear, which sounds like Grizzy Bear if you say it 10 times fast, has “Ghosts” for streaming purposes. Check it out there, or below.

The 7″ is limited to 1000 copies and is now available for purchase via Terrible Record’s online store. As previously reported, this will be the first in a series of upcoming 7″ that were produced by Taylor and which will be released by the label.

  1. While I actually took a liking to “monkier,” I realized it’s moniker. Alex. Young. ;)

On the main topic, there certainly is a plethora of these “indie artists” doing the whole solo album thing. Intriguing, yet blah.
