Watch: The Flaming Lips - “Watching The Planets” (Live on Conan)
While not as crazy as your typical Flaming Lips performance (I miss the dancing aliens!), last night’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan did see the band support the recently released Embryonic with a flashing gong and Wayne Coyne (and the ever-changing words on his hand), both of which aren’t typical of late night television. As for the song itself? Let’s just say the Lips’ rendition of “Watching The Planets” was quite noisy. So much for being able to go sleep once Conan signed off… (via TMS)
Damn, I understand your metabolism slows down when you quit heroin, but Stephen seriously gained a lot of weight. Didn’t he quit three or four years ago?
Regardless, they sound awesome.
