Guns N’ Roses to hit up Canada!
Things are looking hot on the Guns N’ Roses camp lately. Between dates in India and Japan laid out and legal mumbo jumbo brought on by Ulrich Schnauss, it’s certainly an exciting time to be a GnR fan. Now, there’s more! According to Ticketmaster, come the beginning of the new year, Axl & Co. will be hosting a string of dates all across Canada.
Starting January 13th in Winnipeg, MB, the band will crack into the rugged, cold Canadian territory, and will stay there until early February. Fans can probably expect three or four tunes of off Chinese Democracy, fan favorites off of Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion I & II, and lots of leather (courtesy of Mr. Rose himself). Not too shabby of a way to enjoy the miserable, lousy, unbearable icy weather outside, huh? If you’re game, then pre-sales begin as early as this Wednesday!
So, can we expect to spend Valentine’s with the band? Will they make it to America shortly after? Who knows! At this rate, we can expect US dates in March, that alleged “Better” video next November, another Axl Rose online Q&A come January 2011, and hopefully, just hopefully, the followup… in November 2022.

Im from brasil, and i have a little problem. I was planin to go to canada to see guns n roses show at air center canada in january 28 but our visa will not arrive in time, so i cant go to the show and i have 2 tickets that i need to sell and i dont know where.

The Canucks have games scheduled at GM Place throughout January, so it’s definitely not anything to do with the Olympics. Plus, a concert could always be scheduled on a day between games.
hey b, don’t mean to hate as u mad all good points. I agree that Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton have gotten some higher profile acts. But don’t really get the big non stadium/arena bands, well they actually don’t even get the U2’s or Radioheads.
But you stated it best. G’n'R did cause a riot in ‘92. They also caused one in 2002 when they went on tour and got cancelled about 8 shows in. They didn’t even go on in Van. That was the link on my last post. There’s probably not a venue in town that would take them.
there is NOTHING scheduled in vancouver in january and february of 2010 as most of the venues/arenes/hotels/convention centres are already booked for the olymics.
the 1992 riot means nothing, that is not anything new at g n’ r shows. plus they’re coming back to montreal and play many US cities where they have had issues in the past.
as for vancouver/toronto getting the better shows….it’s got to do with market size and the money offered to play those cities. but, if you’ve noticed, winnipeg, calgary and edmonton have become very popular stops on major tours. it’s the smaller tours that tend to just stick to the major markets of toronto, montreal and vancouver.
Don’t think its the Olympics that’s preventing them from going. Its probably this reason:

I’m still glad they’re skipping BC. They always get the best shows other than TO. How does it feel Vancouverites. Getting th shaft. I hope your pissed. That would make me happy.
aren’t the olympics on in vancouver during this canadian tour? could be why there is no show in the west
I know it probably has something to do with the last time axl an Co. tried to put a show on at GM Place in Vancouver. But I kinda like that the band isn’t going all the way to the west coast. I like that Vancouver finally got slighted on a big name act.
