Maps makes his way onto U.S. with new album… and single!
As you may already know, Maps, aka James Chapman, is set to release his second album in the U.S. The critically acclaimed sophomore effort, Turning The Mind, is out October 20th in the U.S., after being released in the U.K. a few months ago.
Bizarrely, his new single “Die Happy, Die Smiling” is out at a much later date, on January 12th, 2010. The release, which will be digital-only, will feature remixes from the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers, Maxine Dangles, and Subscape.
“I’m really happy with the remixes,” said Chapman. “Maxime Dangles has done an amazing disco-killer of a mix, and also A Place To Bury Strangers have produced something truly special. Everything about the new record and “Die Happy, Die Smiling” is much harder, purely electronic, the way things should be.”
To tide you over, feast on this truly bizarre but unforgettable video for the album’s first single, “I Dream Of Crystal”.
