Blitzen Trapper takes a break… to write new album

In the latest example of a high-profile indie band deciding to take some time off, Blitzen Trapper has reportedly announced that the band will be taking a hiatus for at least six months starting in November. But rather some much deserved R&R, Eric Earley and Co. will be using the break to work on the followup to 2008’s Furr.

“We’ve been touring a lot, so we’re gonna take a break and start recording,” Earley explained to Spinner.com. “I’ve been writing a lot all year and recording since January. Three or four songs are already done.”

Early did not give any further details on what will be Blitzen Trapper’s fifth full-length, but did note that there will likely be plenty of material to chose from when putting together the record. “I usually record a whole lot of songs for each record. We recorded over 30 songs for Furr.”
