Watch: Ted Leo offers taste of what is to come

Ted Leo recently signed a record contract with Matador Records. Such actions tend to result in a new studio album.

Ted Leo recently performed at this year’s CMJ Music Marathon (this thing). Such actions tend to be used to hype up something new.

Needless to say, Ted Leo’s appearance at the MSNBC’s Digital Café last weekend marked a perfect storm of sorts — a CMJ performance ahead of the release of a new studio album. So, obviously a new song was expected, and Leo delivered.

The track is called “One Polaroid A Day” and offers a stripped down, twangy sort of style. Obviously, once the Pharmacists join in, the selection should prove to be a bit more ruckus. But regardless of electricity or lack there of, we can certainly conclude that Mr. Leo still has a knack for writing, especially when it comes to the hook.

No word on a release date for Leo’s yet-to-be-titled sixth album. However, expect this and more whenever it does surface.
