311 is one of those bands that has seemingly been around forever (actually 1990 or so). And with that comes all the respect and various distinguishing accolades that accompany such dedication. But on top of that the band named for a code for public indecency also have 311 Day, an annual celebration of all things wondrous about the Omaha, NE band. And, according to LiveDaily.com, now that celebration gets a shot of glitz as the 2010 date moves to Las Vegas.

Held every March 11 (3/11, get it), the show at the Mandalay Bay Events Center will feature the band playing a five-hour set that includes rarities, covers, and assorted picks from the band’s 14 albums. The show also features a light display, jugglers, drumlines, fire twirlers and more. The show was previously held in New Orleans (where that day is officially “311 Day”). 2008’s show brought in 14,000 fans from across the globe.

The band is currently on tour now behind its June 2009 album Uplifter. Tickets go on sale for the extravaganza on October 31st at Ticketmaster.com.
