If you’re a Phish fan, then you probably know Phish Festival 8 will kick off in a matter of hours at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. If you’re a Phish fan and you’re reading this, then you’re probably on festival grounds (and have some fancy iPhone) or are stuck at home and will be forced to resort to Sirius/XM radio, which will broadcasting all eight of the band’s sets live. Speaking of sets, still no word on what the band will be choosing to cover for that one set, but based on last night’s sound check, it may beĀ MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular (though not likely). Other possibilities include Radiohead’s Kid A, Prince’s Purple Rain, Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland, and David Bowie’s Hunky Dory. As for everything else? We suggest keeping an eye here, here, and here. And of course, we’ll update you in case Trey actually does decide to cover Thom.
TAGGED AS: Phish, Phish 2009 Festival
It looks like Rolling Stones’ Exile… Kid A was nixed (I’m not sure that they would have been able to pull that off anyway)
