That brings us to today. In anticipation of The Fountain, the group’s new studio effort due out October 12th, the Bunnymen have unveiled the first single. Titled “Think I Need It Too”, the moody, romantic driver brings some heart-pacing bass, a few jangly guitars, and one hell of a catchy sing-a-long chorus (“Whatever you want/Whatever you need/I think I need it too”). There’s something very nostalgic about the track, and it might have to do with Ian McCulloch’s ’80s-like vocals that recall past acts Dramarama or The Church. But really, at its core, it’s a feel good song, and a pretty good harbinger of things to come.
Sigh, between this and Bad Lieutenant, it’s easy to be happy lately.
