Now that The Strokes appear all but kaput, your next best chance for a Strokes related release will come on November 3rd when frontman Julian Casablancas makes his solo debut with the release of Phrazes For The Young. But you probably already knew this.

What you probably didn’t know, however (because we didn’t until just now), is that the album is now available for streaming via we7.com. Unfortunately, this is mostly a U.K. thing as users outside the country can hear only 30-second clips of each song. But, hey, that’s better than nothing!

Also worth noting is that Casablancas is finally starting to plot some tour dates around the release of Phrazes For The Young. Currently, he is dedicating most of November to a Los Angeles residency (plus one random San Francisco date) and then will use December to engage in a newly announced European tour.

Finally, we can also report that once the album does hit stores on November 3rd, it will be available through iTunes for just $4.99 (the box set is be a bit more). As Casablancas notes, “How about that, 8 new songs for less than a pack of smokes.”
