Japanese natives and noise/punk/rock/weird masters Melt Banana has been shredding faces and melting guitars (and vice versa). And now, thanks to a post by Brooklyn Vegan, it’s clear that they also have split personalities. Starting October 29th, the group will tour the United States in support of themselves, playing one set as Melt Banana and another as Melt Banana Lite, replacing their guitars, according to Insound, with “samplers and synth”.

And if the idea of your face being shredded and/or melted off isn’t enough to draw you out to Visalia, California (wherever that is) for the start of the tour, the prolific record-releasers have two more bits of recorded material they’ll likely have in tow. First is a 3” CD/7” vinyl from Init Records (pre-order here), alongside a live Lite CD from their own A-Zap records (pre-order here).
