Phish confirms? New Years Eve in Miami

Phish confirms? New Years Eve in Miami

Found on the program for Phish Festival 8, aka the recently completed three-day music festival in Indio, CA that saw Trey Anastasio and Co. perform eight sets including the bands first ever acoustic set as well as a cover of Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St in its entirety (w/ Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings providing support), was the following image/advertisement (via Twitter):

Of course, the above isn’t actually an advertisement for four nights of David Bowie (and UB40) in Miami for New Year’s Eve. Rather, it’s a not so subtle reference for the long rumored four nights of Phish in Miami for New Year’s Eve. (Sorry, kids, still no Bowie!) The dates will follow a bunch of other recently announced U.S. tour dates. Tickets go on sale beginning November 20th.

  7. Yeah, I have no idea why I said UB40. They obviously aren’t playing. But Phish is. So, let’s leave it at that. :)

  8. “And I have seen no evidence that UB40 is not.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Funny! Alex, I hope to hell you are not serious! If UB40 or David Bowie show up for this concert, I will give you my car. Do you even know who Phish is?

  10. miami is for sure, already got a plane ticket

  11. November 20th date can be found in the top right corner of the ad. And yes, this has yet to be officially confirmed by the band, but it has been reported by several Phish fan websites.

  12. I too believe this is Phish’s way of subtly announcing the 2009 NYE run, however, you are printing false information saying that it is confirmed. And I would also like to know where you got the Nov. 20 on-sale date. Please respond.

  13. Haha. Phish fooled Alex. Welcome to our world.

  16. UB40 and David Bowie are both lyrics in the song David Bowie by Phish. It’s a joke.

  17. Never said Bowie was playing. And I have seen no evidence to say UB40 is not.

  18. … you do realize that neither David Bowie OR UB40 is playing, right?

Listen to Phish before writing articles about them, or at least get your facts straight.
