Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Method Man combine forces for new album

So it’s been a few years since the last Wu-Tang album. And it will still be a few months or so before the new Shaolin vs Wu-Tang (let’s hope so at least). So, in the case of making lemonade from lemons, the next best thing is one-third of the Wu (in this case Rakewon, Ghostface Killah, and Method Man) putting out a brand new album. Now that’s refreshing.

Pitchfork reported in late September that that the three would be making an album after Rae and Ghost both got their albums out. And since that magic moment had come and gone, we’re now one step closer to the album. While Pitchfork didn’t have quite all the details, it’s a new day and this potential hip-hop must-have is beginning to flesh itself out.

According to Prefix Magazine and HipHopDx.com, the album is slated for a December 22nd release. A title hasn’t been confirmed but the trio has released a teaser trailer that is part one of the three part The Wu-Massacre series that will lead up to the LP’s release. The noir-ish clip is inspired by the oh-so grimy Seven.

Oh, and if that doesn’t peak your interest, RZA wants to get involved. What what.

  1. Awesome… even if the best member (GZA) isn’t a part of this endeavor.
