Julian Casablancas gets in the holiday spirit
The former? Strokes frontman turned solo artist Julian Casablancas, who coincidentally also celebrates the release of his debut LP, Phrazes Of The Young, today, has decided to follow in the footsteps of Dylan, Diamond, and Amos and offer a Christmas related release of his own.
According to NME, Casablancas will release a cover version “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”, a song which originally appeared on Saturday Night Live, as a limited edition 7″ and digital download on December 21st.
“It was a fun thing to do. Everyone seems to do a Christmas song at some point, so I always said to myself I’d do that song,” Casablancas explained. “I now checked that off the list of things to do!”
Finishing the next Strokes album would also be a nice thing to check off that list, too…
