Jay-Z and Alicia Keys reunite for “Empire State of Mind Part 2″
On the day that New York City is celebrating a Yankees champion (ugh), perhaps it’s only appropriate to report that the Big Apple’s newest anthem is already getting a sequel.
According to MTV, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys have decided to record a part two to The Blueprint 3’s incredibly wonderful “Empire State of Mind”. Keys will include “Empire State of Mind Part 2″, which will include a new verse from Hova, on her forthcoming studio album, The Element of Freedom, which is set for release on December 15th via J Records.
But while we’re gearing up for the new, let’s not forget that the original “Empire State of Mind” is still very much alive and kicking. In the last week alone, the song got its very own music video and was performed at Yankees Stadium (before the Yankees bought won another World Series). Remember below.

This song is getting played too much, its becoming overkill. i dont get what the big hype over this song is because it just sounds like a bunch of random ramblings about new york.
I know it hasn’t been nearly as long as the Cubs or Giants, but still…The last nine years have been painful. This makes up for the failures of recent years. Even 2004 and that bloody sock.
hah.
Yeah, hilarious.
It’s funny how the teams with the next two highest payrolls both suck (i.e. the Mets and the Cubs).
