M.I.A.’s next record will please hip-hop and indie kids alike

“Been in the studio with M.I.A. working on her new record… It’s like Gucci Mane meets Animal Collective. I think there are a couple of people [producing] but we’re going to finish it off, me and Switch. We’ve done like four tracks already.”

- Diplo, former boyfriend/current producer of M.I.A., on what fans can expect when the Grammy and Academy Award nominated musician born Mathangi Arulpragasam follows up 2007’s Kala sometime next year (via P.tv) In the meantime, you’ll be able to get your M.I.A. fix on Christina Aguileras forthcoming album (if and when it ever does actually come out).

  1. I know it’s embarrassing to have talentless hacks mentioned in the same breath as an innovator like MIA. AC can go to hell for all i care.

  2. yawn. she’s done.

and, please, Diplo (et al)….don’t associate AC w/MIA…..ever!

  3. i love MIA but don’t know if i can handle another one of her shows, especially if it’s all ages.
