R.E.M. back in the studio?
It seems that one hell of a comeback album, a jaw dropping tour (chock full of rarities), a re-issue, a mini EP, and a live album wasn’t enough for the Athens, GA trio, otherwise known as R.E.M. Because simply put, they’re back in the studio hitting the ol’ instruments and fiddling about with the buttons. Don’t believe us? Well, check out this photo posted on remhq.com last week:
See the snazzy silhouette in the back? Ponder and speculate all you want, but any fool would know that profile from a mile away. It’s Phil Specter! No, no… it’s obviously Michael Stipe. Right? Right? Duh. Well, if they think they can knock out something on par with 2008’s Accelerate, then by all means, deliver us the goods, guys!
Who else thinks 2010 is going to be a great year?
I’ve been a fan from the beginning and still think REM is the best band around. Can’t wait for the new cd but, please, gentlemen, more Canadian tour dates, especially in the West.
Come on boys, why don’t you want to come in my country - Bulgaria, it wolud be Great!

R.E.M. is simply the coolest.. Can’t wait to hear the new songs.. everything is better with a little REM
I just wish the damn radio stations would play more REM songs (old and new). But then, not playing REM songs on the radio may be a good thing considering the crap that is contantly played on the air. REM just keep cranking out those songs and keep us up to date on REMHQ.com cause that’s where I get my REM news….Also loved the last CD and your last concert was the best concert Ive been to in 30 years (despite the idiots in the audience who thought one should sit at an REM concert…who let them in anyway?
