Wynonna Judd eyes possible Judds reunion

The Judds (mom Naomi and daughter Wynonna) are country music royalty who, due to Naomi’s contraction of hepatitis C in 1991, have spent years reuniting for small bursts. In fact, the last album they made together was 2000’s Big Bang Boogie. But perhaps stemming from a few recent reunions (like at this year’s Country Music Awards), Wynona told Billboard.com that they might be getting the band back together for some bigger plans.

“We sang for 50,000 people and they sang back to us and it was a holy moment,” Wynona said of the CMA experience. “And on the drive home I thought, ‘Y’know, I really appreciate where I’ve come from and the people do, too, and they love the Judds music and it hasn’t disappeared.’ I just thought, “Y’know, I think it’s time.”

While that magic moment may be good for the mother-daughter bond, any official plans have yet to be made. But thankfully Wynona is open to just about anything at this point.

“We are ‘in talks,’ so there’s nothing that’s been defined yet,” Wynonna said. “I just felt it in my spirit. A couple weeks ago I said, ‘It’s 2010. It’s been 25 years. It’s take your mother to work year. It just feels like it’s the right time; she’ll be 64 in January, and I think it’s time — not the whole year, but it’s just going to be a way to celebrate her.”

Possibilities also include the pair recording a new album and going on a Classic Christmas tour for next year. But who knows what will actually transpire.

In Wynona solo news, she’s going to publish her first novel, a tween drama for all the Miley Cyrus fans called The Restless Heart in 2010 and she’s working on a followup to 2008’s covers album Sing: Chapter 1. As to what to expect for that, don’t get your hopes up yet again.

“I may go traditional. I may decided to do blues. I may decide to do ’80s rock,” she said. “I’m a work in progress. I don’t have any single, one-line definition of where I’m at. I’m kid of all over the map right now, but we’ll hone in on something very soon, I think.”

And now we’re wondering what Ashley Judd’s up to.

One Response to “Wynonna Judd eyes possible Judds reunion”

  1. I think it’s great to see these two mother and daughter duo to do something out of the ordinary for 2010 . Hopefully ” Hurricane Wy ” will do something as well but totally different from back then . Like for an example: maybe perhaps she might want to get herself a set of dancers just to tone up her songs like ” No One Else On Earth ” and ” Rock Bottom ” with a little bit of ” Hip- Hop / House ” look . Just to give these fans what to expect cause I know for a fact while Wy was a solo act, she got some better dance moves that ya’ll has never seen it before maybe perhaps when she did it from a Superbowl half time show . I think it was off da’ chain if you ask me though . When 2010 concert arrives here in Nothern California Bay Area, you know I can not wait for that to happen . Yes I am also a big huge fan of ” Hurricane Wynonna ” for 6 years but I haven’t yet met her or mom Naomi in person however, every birthday that I always recieved hasn’t come true yet but I’ve wondered if next year I will be turning 38 years old and all that I ever wanted is to meet ” The Judds ” at a live talkshow perhaps like ” Ellen Degeneres ” as a wonderful birthday present just for me . I think that will be totally awesome indeed . Also I was wondering if I can give Wynonna Judd my cell phone number just to talk to her whenever she’s not very busy with her concert schedule if it’s possible (510 ) 676-2190. She can give me a call at anytime during the week or so . By the way I was wondering if I can invite her to sing during my little sister’s wedding in which it is on February 12, 2010 as well .
