Muse confirmed for Coachella 2010
With the 2010 edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival scheduled to get underway a little less than five months from now, we are finally starting to get an idea of what the lineup will look like.
According to a source with knowledge of the festival’s plans, Muse will serve as a headliner for the Indio, CA event, set to take place from April 16-18. This will mark the British outfit’s first appearance at Coachella since 2004 and will come amidst what will likely be a summer chock-full of tour dates in support of the band’s most recent effort, The Resistance.
A separate source confirms that both Hot Chip and The xx will make room in their recently announced U.S. tour and also appear. These latest additions join Devo, Craze & Klever, and As Tall As Lions, all of which have been previously confirmed by other Internet outlets.
Keeping the fun going, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, The Avett Brothers, and Pavement are all heavily rumored, while Tegan & Sara, Spacemen 3, Pretty Lights, Cornelious, and Imogen Heap are among the others currently appearing on our Coachella Outlook page.
An official lineup announcement is expected to come in late January. Buckle up… the fun is only getting started!

I heard soundgarden will play at coachella. Maybe they’ll bring back grunge bands. stp is coming out with a new record and alice in chains new cd is awesome!
I bet there will be better headliners for the true music fans. It makes sense for muse to appear this year. I’ll check em out again. They put on a good show. Can’t for sahara headliners!
i hope this is real i just saw MUSE last night at the KROQ show and they were amazing i cant wait just got my tickets.

I’m thinking they’ll play Lolla too. I would agree that their new album isn’t great as a whole, but there are a few good tracks on it.

Missed them at the now dead Vegoose back in ‘06, so I will most definitely be there. Oh, and Muse was great long before they let Twilight use one of their songs. Ok, their last album wasn’t their strongest, but there are some good songs. I’ve already texted my sister and friends. We’re there. Damn, it’s still centuries away though. Haha. I’m excited.

I have a feeling Muse will be at a few other major U.S. festivals. But that’s just a feeling.
I was debating on which festival to hit, this is a big draw but I wasn’t looking to go that early in the year. Methinks this will coincide with a full headlining US tour for Muse anyhow, so be able to catch them somewhere else.
