Any thoughts that Them Crooked Vultures was a one-time deal may have just been thrown out the window, thanks to a new interview between the band and The Sun (via Prefix).
Speaking as to what the future holds, the supergroup of Josh Homme, John Paul Jones, and Dave Grohl revealed that they are indeed planning to followup their recently unveiled masterful self-titled debut.
“I felt we’ve only just started to pick up steam. Why would we want to stop now?” explained Homme, a sentiment which was further backed up by Jones. “We all know we have so much more in us yet.”
Mr. Grohl then chirped in and confirmed what we all were waiting to here: “When we make our second record, it’s going to be even more powerful than this one.”
No specifics were given, but that won’t stop us from now engaging in a collective fist pump. Ready… go!
TAGGED AS: Them Crooked Vultures
i would rather see a new queens of the stone age album but that doesnt mean i dont wanna see anotehr them crooke vultures album i would just RATHER see a new QOTSA album
I don’t what any of you think their album kicked ass in every way possible. I’d kill for a follow up. Just saw them tonight… amazing.
Man, I just don’t get the hype. This stuff just sounds like really bad bluse rock mixed with bad QOTSA! Don’t believe the hype!
Cool, but this is wasting valuable QOTSA time.
the reality is it’s too early to call them crooked vultures the best band of the decade. they just released their first album, which kicked ass, and the decade is about to end. all i know is that they have wicked talent.
definitely not the best band of the decade (I, too, like QOTS much better). but it was a good album. hopefully the second one will be “more powerful” as dave says. i’d listen to it.
I like TCV, but Queens of the Stone Age was better and played more interesting music
“best band in the last 10 years by the way!”
what about queens of the stone age?
Andrew, don’t be pretentious like Pitchfork.
It’s a shame…I bet you think Vampire Weekend is the greatest band ever, too. Them, or YACHT.

The debut was a snooze at best and they are no where near the best band this year.
I think we could tell by this album that these guys where gana be hanging out for some time… best band in the last 10 years by the way!
