Just one month after the release of this year’s In and Out of Control, the Danish duo The Raveonettes have finally decided to officially release the non-album track “The Chosen One” to the public. Originally, the song was made available via a bonus disc shipped along with In and Out of Control for those few lucky shoppers who purchased the album at RecordStoreDay.com during the week of its release; which also included another yet to be released original track entitled “Planes Do Crash”.

Collecting an interesting mash-up of influences including a throw back to the ever so popular 50’s guitar twang and scratchy reverb alongside Sune Rose Wagner’s reverberating vocals, “The Chosen One” is a blissful and melodic ballad through and through. As the song unfolds, Wagner continuously refers to the famous Bonnie & Clyde cooing, “Catch me if you can now, baby. Catch me, catch me, do it, baby. Do it, do it” jolting the already prominent nostalgic feel of the song up a notch.
